Self Control:

This is one of the fruits of the Spirit mention in the bible. It is a strong force to success in life. Ability to control self kept Joseph dream alive, when he refused to conformed to the temptation of potiphar's wife. What ever you do, you have 100% percent right to choose whether to do it or not. Aristotle says "what lies in our power to do, also lies in our power not to do." Scriptures made it clear when it states we are inexcusable (Romans 2:1).
Enjoyment is obtained not by having what you desire but by controlling desire itself. Self control is the restraint exercise over our impulse, emotion and desire. It is the capacity for keeping our words and actions under control (In this Samson was a victim). Without self control we create trouble for our self.

Faith Step:

A step of faith is not a risky step, because there is no possibility of loss. The probability of loss in whatever adventure we embark on is what makes us say it is risky. But faith in God is not so. Abraham believed God and what he trusted God for came to pass. Abraham never embarked on any risky journey because he knew that, “faithful is he who has promise and that He will bring it to pass.”

Overcoming Work Place Enemies

One of the way to overcome workplace enemies is faithfulness (Daniel 6:4 KJV). A faithful man is a faultless man. Men like Daniel; Moses and Jesus could not be accuse in respect to their assignment simply because they were faithful in their calling. If all finger points against you, one of the only finger that will defend you is your faithfulness. In (Esther 6:1-3) Haman plan to kill Mordecai but Mordecai was vindicated by his faithfulness.

Something To Think About: True Worship

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17 NIV)

Some people think of worship as just singing a slow song or hymn to God, however, true worship is not just about singing. We worship God whenever we do anything in His name. When you are at work, and you're carrying out your activities as if you are going them directly for God, this is worship. When you clean your home and do it as if God is your house guest, this is worship. When we do things with this mindset, we do them to the best of our ability because we know that we're not doing it for man. True worship is seeing God in all that we do and say. So when your manager asks you to do a task, no matter how mundane it may be, do it as if it's the most important job in the world. When you clean the dishes, do it as if it's the most important job in the world. As you're cooking your families dinner, do it if it's the most important job in the world. TRULY WORSHIP HIM

The Book of Revelations: Not to be feared

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. (Revelation 1:3 NIV)

Out of all the books in the bible, the book of Revelations is the one that many people are afraid to read. All their attention is placed on the beast and the time of tribulation and they become fearful. But from the above scripture we should understand that this book is a blessing. It tells us of God's plan for that time. It shouldn't invoke fear in us but a sense preparation, that we are ready for Christ's second arrival.

As children of God remember that we have nothing to do with the beast. Whatever turmoil may be placed on the earth at that time is not our portion, for we will be in the presence of the Lord.

Abrahamic Covenant (Part One)

Genesis 12:2 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing.”
Blessing here simply means “Increase,” we can as well say God made a covenant of increase with Abraham.
What is a covenant? A covenant is an agreement between two parties. God enter into an agreement with Abraham, it was an agreement of increase in every area of Abraham’s life. God made a covenant with Abraham that required nothing of Abraham. God determined to call out special people for himself through whom He would bring blessing to all nations.

Seven steps of Faith that Abraham took in surrendering his will to God
·         He surrender his native land
·         He surrender his family
·         He surrender the plain of Jordan
·         He surrender the riches of Sodom
·         He surrender self “Circumcision”
·         He surrender Ishmael
·         He surrender Isaac

Each painful surrendering was followed by divine revelation of God’s blessings. The more we lay aside self, in the process of our work with God the more of God we see.  God relationship with Abraham came to full manifestation as result of Abraham faith in God. He never stagger at the promise of God, instead he was strong in faith. The life Abraham lived was a product of what He believed.

However what we call the Jewish religion and tradition today was the life Abraham lived by faith. Simply because his descendant could not enter this life (covenant) by faith they ended up carving out religion out of it, which ended up in works instead of faith (Hebrews 3:15-19; Galatians 3). Just as the Church has replaced the gospel of grace that Christ preaches with the message of works (Galatians 3:1).  Scriptures further reveals to us the Jews style of worship in Matthew 15:6-9:

“And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hyprocrites. Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying. This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips, but their hearth is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines with the commandment of men.”
